Theodore Marcy, MD is a 1972 graduate of Hinsdale Central High School. He later graduated from Stanford University in 1976 (BA with honors), and from Yale University School of Medicine in 1980. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and an attending physician in the Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Section at Fletcher Allen Health Care, both in Burlington, Vermont. While at HCHS, Dr. Marcy was a member of the school's State Champion gymnastic teams in 1970, '71 and '72, and was the individual State Champion on the Pommel Horse in 1971 and 1972. In college he was the NCAA Champion in this event in 1974, '75, and '76. In 1980, he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and also received the Nahum Prize for his medical thesis. During his medical career he has contributed to a number of original publications and book chapters, and has spoken at numerous medical conferences. He provides medical direction to Respiratory Care Services in Burlington, and coordinates the Pulmonary Ambulatory Center. He is on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association in Vermont, and has been selected to the Council of Governors for the American College of Chest Physicians. He recently served on a special review group for the National Institutes of Health. |
