F. William Trescott
Long time Hinsdale teacher and District 86 administrator, Bill Trescott spent 37 years working with our community’s teachers, students and parents. First as a social studies teacher, eventually becoming Principal at Hinsdale Central High School and ending his career as Assistant Superintendent of District 86, he gave countless hours to building Central’s and the district’s reputation as a high performing and exemplary place for secondary education.

Bill worked with students outside the classroom as a coach from 1957 – 1972. He shaped many of young athletes and teams that eventually went on to win conference and state recognition.

Mr. Trescott earned a Bachelor’s degree from New Mexico Highlands University and his Master’s degree from the University of Iowa. He married Hinsdale Central English teacher Betty Lou Peters Kinney in 1959. Betty and Bill have two sons Tom, a historian living in Chicago and Robert, a screenwriter living in Southern California.

Active in the community, Bill has served on the Board of Directors of Mid America Bank and the MAF Bancorp since 1978. He and Betty are also active members of the Committee of 100 and the Union Church of Hinsdale.
