Mr. Begley worked at Hinsdale Central from 1996-2012. He came to Central as a physical education teacher and soccer coach for the girls’ and boys’ teams. Many conference championships were won by both teams. The 2009 women’s team captured the Illinois state championship. His successes both as a teacher and coach have been recognized by many associations as well as his peers. In 2018, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Illinois High School Soccer Association. Skip started with Hinsdale Central in 1996 as a teacher and coach. He added Department Chair to his role starting in 2000. He coached the boys’ soccer team from starting in 1996 and the girls’ soccer team starting in 1998. Between those years, he led these teams to many Regional and Sectional championships. He is still involved with the Freshman Boy’s B soccer team at Hinsdale Central. Skip has received many awards throughout his coaching career including Girls Soccer Coach of the year in 2009, Midwest Regional Coach of the Year in 2009, and the National Coach of the Year Finalist. In addition to the massive contribution through his coaching, Skip has been a member of many professional clubs and organizations throughout attending Western Illinois University and beyond graduation. While reviewing the impressive and comprehensive resume of Skip, it’s no surprise the influence and impact he had on so many people throughout his life. Skip attended undergrad at Western Illinois University, then continued on to get his masters in Physical Education. Even beyond that, he received an endorsement in Educational Administration from Loyola University. He now resides in Plainfield while still supporting Hinsdale Central sports. |
