A 1972 graduate of Hinsdale Central School, Leslie Hindman is one of the country s foremost authorities on the buying and selling of antiques, fine art and collectibles. A popular television host, her shows At the Auction with Leslie Hindman and The Appraisal Fair are viewed in more than 80 million homes across America. She writes a weekly syndicate column for the Chicago Tribune, What s It Worth? and is the author of the critically acclaimed book Adventures at the Auction. One of America s most successful women, Leslie has built an auction business that has a world-class reputation. She sold her Leslie Hindman Auctioneers to Sotheby s in 1987. Today, she continues her success as President of Leslie Hindman, Inc. Leslie serves on the Board of Directors of MB Financial Bank, the Chicago Public Library Foundation, the Goodman Theatre and Children s Memorial Hospital Foundation. She attended Pine Manor College, the University of Paris Sorbonne and Indiana University and has received an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois. She is the recipient of many awards including the YWCA Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the National Association of Women Business Owners Woman of Achievement Award. |
