Judy Biggert is a graduate of New Trier High School (1955), Stanford University (1959), and Northwestern University Law School (1963). She has earned her distinction as a friend of Hinsdale Central High School through her dedication and leadership in the Hinsdale educational community. She is an attorney, specializing in real estate, estate planning and probate, and a respected member of the Illinois Legislature. From 1978 to 1985, Rep. Biggert was a member of the Hinsdale Township High School District 86 School Board, serving as its President from 1983 to 1985. While on the School Board she chaired the Negotiations Committee, and was a member of the Budget and Buildings and Grounds Committees as well. Through her work as the 81st District Representative, she has been able to make positive strides for education in Illinois. Rep. Biggert has been appointed the Assistant Republican Leader in the Illinois Legislature and holds several committee appointments, including Labor and Commerce and Judiciary I (Civil Law). She is on the Education Funding Task Force and the Governor's Human Services Reorganization Task Force. In 1995 she was named the Woman of the Year in Government, Politics, and Civic Affairs by the DuPage YWCA, and in July, 1997 was named one of the "top 100 women making a difference" in Today's Chicago Woman. |
